How did Project Pixel start?
Project Pixel was founded by two Computer Science students at the University of Sheffield, Najaaz Nabhan and Aamir Ali. They identified a gap in software-based projects at the university and, driven by their passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, pitched an idea to create the UK’s first student-led game development project with a charitable mission.
How have we collaborated with Sumo Digital ?
Sumo Digital, a renowned global game development company based in Sheffield, has been a key supporter of Project Pixel from the start. Their expertise helped us establish an industry-like structure within our organisation, consisting of five main teams: Programming, Graphic Design, Sound & Music, Game Design, and PR & Marketing. Each year, Sumo Digital provides valuable feedback and guidance, helping us refine our processes to enhance the quality of our games and create an authentic learning environment for our members that mirrors the game development industry.
